This is a relatively economical alternative that can be used for product photography. It certainly depends on your photographing skills and not completely on the device that you are holding for photography. You just need to take the products in natural light or well lit areas where the photography can be done effortlessly. The cameras these days are getting better than ever so you just have to worry about exposing the products to the natural light and rest will be handled by you iPhone easily.

If you have ever shopped at an online store then you must know that colour or busy backgrounds somehow affects the overall look of the product itself. Customers need to focus on the products and not on the backgrounds in order to keep the product in maximum light, it is best to give most sober background.

If you will only mention that dress is available in pink color, people will never get an idea on what kind of pink they are buying. They would want to see the dress first before they hit the buy button. It is a significant detail and must be mentioned and presented in pictorial form for customers to be sure of their purchases.
