Some Important Tips on E-commerce Product Photography

Product photography studios specialize in providing high-quality pictures that are just perfect for your e-commerce portals. These photo studios click pictures in the best lighting and environment conditions. A single product is shot from various angles so that all the features and specifications are prominent and clear. This is essential from the consumer requirement point of view as all details regarding the product should be explicit. Experienced photographers possess the best equipment to shoot attractive pictures that easily capture the consumer’s attention. But what if you do not have the budget to hire top photographers for your e-commerce product?

Here are some product photography hacks to give results similar to professional product photography:

  1. The right light effect

Natural light works best for any photo shoot and should be used optimally. Place the object such that it receives the correct amount of light, such that its various aspects are clearly visible. Afternoons are suitable for product photo shoots as the sunlight available is ample. Try using one light source as not just the product shoot outcome is great, the problem of unwanted reflections and shadows is also solved.

  1. Correct background

For e-commerce products, the white background is preferred. The focus is maintained over the object and the view is clear and pleasing the eye.

  1. Angles matter

The product should be shot from various angles. In case the customer is not convinced with the product in the first look, he can view the object from different angles to make his final decisions. Look for unique angles and make sure all the special features of the product get noticed well. The various angles should reflect the correct size, shape, texture, and quality of the product.

  1. Stay steady and sturdy

Your camera should be absolutely steady while taking a shot. Even small vibrations cause motion blur, spoiling the image totally. Use a tripod with your camera so that sharp pictures are captured. The camera’s inbuilt timer can be used to reduce vibrations and increase precision and clarity of the picture. While using your smartphone’s camera, lean your hand/phone against a background to minimize chances of a blur.

You have clicked your pictures against the best light, background and captured the optimum angles. But your client still has a different requirement. Or the pictures did not come out as expected. While it is impossible to organize a product photography session all over again, editing can be done in the existing pictures. Certain touch-ups and manipulations become necessary while preparing images for e-commerce businesses. There are numerous good-quality editing software available that transform a simple image into an outstanding one. Upload the pictures into image processing apps like Adobe Photoshop and commence the necessary editing.
