Can we predict our lives without a smartphone? No, everything is associated with the smartphones whether it is related to office work, school/ college routine work or shopping online etc. With the time, technologies are enhancing day by day, largely fulfilling the people’s need for telephone, digital cameras or video recorder. Online shopping is in trend nowadays and it’s growing more and more. If you are accessing a smartphone you are not away from any shopping stores. You can buy anything of any brand with few clicks and finally your products will be at door steps. And most importantly saving a buyers time that is too important to be wasted, going to stores and shopping.
But anyways my topic of discussion is not about mobile phones, it’s the bad display of product images according to the mobile resolution that annoys the buyers and breaks the patience resulting shutting off the website. I don’t know if you are familiar with the word Responsive in electronic world or not. So let me tell you about this word and what exactly it is.
Responsive website is the one that gives best possible results to its buyers while shopping, without much scrolling, zooming or reviewing. The clients nowadays want the mobile versions for their websites according to the screen resolution, and view layout of the products easily. While shopping , the websites that are well maintained, keeping the mobile version of the buyers, goes up high for the sale. It should keep in mind the users requirement and that is website should adapt to all possible screen sizes and respond to the users behaviour. The presentation of the website is set according to the needs of the viewer. There are two main supporters of the responsive website design and that are :
- Maximum traffic from the mobile phones: as we all know mobile has easy access to the online shopping stores and it has been figured out that maximum shopping is done through mobile phones. So in this case smart phones are making people smarter and saving their precious time too.
- Google credibility to such websites: Google gives the preference to those websites that attracts more customers (giving them utmost satisfaction while shopping online) and ranks them highest in search engines. So responsive websites are more likely given highest ranking by the Google as they satisfy their customers’ needs
Shopping from online stores through mobile is an easy task. But problem arises when you have to scroll and zoom again and again for your satisfaction. That even makes you feel irritated and sometimes I use to shut the website. And this was the reason, to the introduction of Responsive web design.
It does not matter which quality device a buyer is using, he only wants the good quality of product images. There are two solutions to it.
One is adding small PHP script to the image and it’s purpose is to detect the device. Other one is picture fill that can be used when browser does not support and other standards.
